Celebrating the hard work that companies invest in social media efforts is not only a way to feel good about our accomplishments, but also a way to learn from the successes of others.
The following list of social media awards gives agencies, brands, vendors, and consultants their chance to strut their stuff. Please leave a comment if you know of other awards.
I realize there are many awards for startups (like Demo or Techcrunch 50), but this is awards for successes that brands have done using social media

Coming from the solopreneur world, this question may be completely silly, but…
Do companies ever hold contests, either internally or company-to-company that highlight social media/new media?
It’s a round about way of getting an “award,” but I simply have no idea if this strategy has any traction outside of the arts.

I’m not sure I understand your question, but yes, there are awards (like the two listed above) but I’m not aware of any companies (brands) that have done awards. Does this answer your question?

we do have at IBM the Blue IQ Initiative. People can enroll as Blue IQ Ambassadors and based on their performance of promoting and supporting how social media is implemented they can get awards. Very cool!
I’m not including OMMA awards at it spans other disciplines like advertising.

Ad:tech has a best social media campaign category within their annual award. They are accepting admissions for 09 now ->
