People on the Move in the Social Media Industry: April 27, 2008

onthemove

I’m starting this post series (see archives) to recognize and congratulate folks who get promoted, move, or accept new exciting positions. Please help me congratulate the following folks:

  • Teresa Valdez Klein moves on to T-Mobile as a product planner, she’s very entrenched in social media, so we can expect her to add to the social media charge at T-Mobile.
  • Janice Diner heads up Ripple, the new social media division of Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG. In her previous role Janice headed up the Facebook communities and application development for TD Canada Trust and PlayStation Canada.
  • Tony Haenn takes a new role as Executive Community Architect at the Corporate Executive Board, which offers similar services to Forrester.
  • Petr Olmer moves to Good Data as the Community Evangelist.

  • How to Connect with others:

    1. Hi Jeremiah, Great post – enjoy your work.

I’m a exec at Digitas and a rising star in Web 2.0 and social media in the agency realm. I’m also on the board of MITX (www.mitx.org) our professional organization for media, marketing and tech professionals in Boston. I started a social network for MITX that is starting to get some traction (www.mitxexchange.org). There are several notable Boston-based VC’s, MIT researchers and lots of agency/marketing folks. We are about to kick into full gear, Chris Brogan is joining our leadership team. This will be a great place for social media professionals in Boston to network.

Our goal is to help Boston become the North East equivalent to Silicon Valley (Charles River Valley?).

      All the best, Dean

    2. Dean, congrats on bringing Chris Brogan on board. I’m sure he will be a valuable asset as you continue to evolve in the social media space.

    3. Hey, saw your tweet. I was Social Media Director for Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corp and joined ad agency Red Tettemer (http://redtettemer.com, yep, that’s me on the homepage!) in mid-March. My title at RT is Community Trailblazer. W00t. That was way more than 140 characters;)

    4. Hi Jeremiah-
I recently moved into the role of Enterprise Social Media Program Manager at Intel. I moved from the external social media efforts into driving the strategy and implementation of social media internally.
