The internet is truly a great way to find what you enjoy as a hobby. To perfect it and practice on your own pet projects and then take it into a paying position where you are doing exactly what you want, with a hopefully good paycheck, in a growing industry. Electronic is where everything is going!

This is great! I love seeing success stories of people connecting on the digital frontier! But we should not forget that there is a big recession period is going on and definitely it was a very hard truth for us but we shouldn't disappoint with it. We should face the problem as we all know that life is not a bed of roses so we should have patience and i hope the recession period will be end as soon as possible. Great post and I look forward to reading more! :).My goal is to leverage that experience and transition to a career as a web strategist or web project manager someday.

Thanks for the congrats, and Jeremiah, let me know when you're going to be in DC.

Andrew, would you believe I already have two lunches lined up with people I met through blogging? Connecting with people is key and I'm honored to be part of this "community."

This is great! I love seeing success stories of people connecting on the digital frontier! After I came to Outrider, there were a lot of blog posts out there about my move and I got all sorts of feedback from people saying that they were more encouraged to start reaching out through their favorite blogs and social channels.

Jonathan, when similar stories start coming to you, I hope you are just as inspired by their support as I was! Thanks again to Jeremiah and anyone else out there who help bring more people together...after all if we aren't helping each other, there really would not be much of a point in calling it 'social' media!)

(btw Jeremiah, we just barely missed running into each other at OMMA Social in NY this week!)

Congrats to Jonathan on his new job. I hope to write to you someday with a story of similar success.

I read about Andrew's good fortune earlier this year, and have been pushing myself surely but slowly, building and managing a few sites in order to learn the ins and outs of social media and web strategy. My goal is to leverage that experience and transition to a career as a web strategist or web project manager someday.
