Spending time on Twitter, join us
I’m publishing more and more frequently on Twitter, which is form of a chat room, instant messaging tool, presence tool, with mobile ‘hooks’. How am I using Twitter? There are three major methods:
1) As a ‘link blog’. As I surf the web and see something interesting, I’ll post a link to it and offer some brief commentary. If you want to get inside of my head, this is a good way to do it. I even link to things that I’m researching on for the day job, there’s even an RSS feed.
2) A chat room. I’m having converations with many members, sharing ideas, and hashing out ideas. We don’t always agree and that’s ok too.
3) A listening tool. I’m following over a thousand people, and as I scan the main feed, I get a good sense of the consciousness of my community.
Just this morning we’ve talked about blue note Jazz, internet flash mobs, Apple’s marketing, Lifestyle brands, and last night’s topic was citizen journalism in China.
Also, Twitter has recently received funding, and I’m noticing small improvement changes to the UI as well as performance increases. This is likely to be one the major players in this space that will last.
To register is very simple, to post is even easier. I hope to see you on Twitter, if you follow me, I’ll follow you back.
Looking for other people to connect with? Twitterposter shows some of the top members in this graphical dashboard, a good starting point.
Update: I finally got to Alpha and their now on Twitter! Also, check out this VERY comprehensive guide to understanding this new communication tool.

Jeremiah you always has great tweets! My favorite part about Twitter is the constant flow of info. Every morning people provide links to the breaking news. Each conveniently opens in a new tab & I browse them as I have time.
Nik Butler posted a social media startup list if you’re wondering where to start http://www.loudmouthman.com/2007/10/30/a-social-network-startup-pack/#comment-11479
I’m glad to help if you have questions.

[…] about a day late, Jeremiah. I already succumbed to Twitter, after months of resistance, just […]
Honestly, I was never interested in Twitter because its a lot of fact that many hypes are self-manufactured in the internet evironement. From day one I started blogging on open platform out of MySpace, I resisted the temptation of playing around with these.
Sounds really bad? So many associates around me are beginning to take up Twitter, when I barely signed up for del.icio.us only for a month. Yes, I am considerably slow. Haha…! But now I might take Twitter on a test-run and see what one can do with it.
My first comment was viewed as spam I think since it’s ‘awaiting moderation’. It has a link to the post Nik mentions.
And I’ll be glad to help anyone getting started.

The internet, self-hyped? naaaah.
Look for 6 month adoption rates by early adopters. For example, Scoble tried Twitter, Pownce, Jaiku and god knows what, and the one that he kept is Twitter (for over 6 mos now). It’s safe to conclude this is likely to be the dominant micro-blogging platform.
Twitter - A Place Where People Know Your Name…
If you’ve heard about twitter and are thinking about dipping your toes in the stream to learn what people are talking - or twittering - about there’s no better time than now. You’ve heard it’s for geeks? OK, and moms, writers, students, freelancers…
