Categories: Industry Index, Web IndustryPosted on September 15th, 2007I create these industry index lists (see all), they help me to keep an eye on trends, fads, and markets. The community (that’s you) helps me to keep these lists updated by adding new companies in the comments, and I serve as a sort of editor to ensure consistency.
Recently, I’ve noticed an explosion of news aggregation sites around industry topics. Technology is my primary interest, so I’m putting together this list of companies that Aggregate news technology. What’s interesting is that they all have different techniques to gather the news, most are automated by computer algorithms, and some have human editor process.
Limitations: There’s quite a few mainstream news channels that Google, Yahoo, MSN and others provide, these are not included, I’m looking for new ways to find news. Those listed below also index blogs, which are important. There’s also quite a few voting type websites like Digg, I’m not including those either.
As long as the output is high value, it really doesn’t matter.
