Zoho to launch Business and Personal suites

Categories: Enterprise WebPosted on September 6th, 2007

I had a private tour from Raju Vegesna, Zoho’s evangelist. Zoho is privately held division of AdventNet, of Pleasanton California.

Zoho Personal is a free application for individuals, it has over 15 Zoho collaboration applications. A few advanced applications will be available on a limited access such as, meetings, projects, creator, and CRM –a great lead in for purchasing future features.

For the small and medium sized business groups there are two versions: 1) free, and a @) paid version. With the business version, advanced administrative features are created, giving control over a scalable office system. The ability to rebrand and customize your experience are apparently available. In the future the groups section will include blogs and forums and other social media tools.

it will have administration console, with additional paid features.

What’s next? In few months, Zoho will be launching an education series for teachers and students, followed by an enterprise edition.

At what point does Zoho office compare to Google Docs? 30% more functionality in individual Zoho applications, says Raju. Overall the suite has 50% more applications than Google Office.

What about offline support? Zoho writer has offline capabilities, although not all applications can be viewed offline, the writer (a word processing application) is available offline.

Zoho’s business model? They’re currently charging users for CRM and Project Managemen tools Now, Zoho business will offer premium services for small and medium business, such as storage, 24/7 telephone support. As you know my background is from Data Storage, they’re integrating hardware storage with online storage vendors such as box or omnidrive.

Zoho is on a roll. Each product and service that the bring to market is better than I had expected. Not to mention that the introduce them at such a rapid rate without negatively impacting the quality of the products.

Keep up the great work Zoho!
