Guy Kawasaki monetizes the MicroMedia format
Guy Kawasaki is reading the top Truemors (rumor or statement) from his website of the same name. Why is this important? This gives people yet another way to get the content from his site.
What’s MicroMedia? I’ve defined it as quick audio or video messages published to a trusted social community. May be created and consumed using mobile technology, and often distributed using other social media tools.
What’s most interesting to me is that Guy has figured it all out and has a sponsor for his micropodcast:
“This week’s top ten Truemors sponsored by the HP iPaq 510 cell phone.”
This Micromedia trend is starting to appear by many of the early adopter social media folks, from Steve Rubel, Scoble, and many others using this quick bites of audio or video.
Our culture is moving faster, smaller, and more mobile. Some folks challenge this is the collapse of our society as the quality conversations become reduced to small on-the-go bits and bites. For me? This is freedom, it’s easier to create and consume from anywhere, life is a smorgasborg.
Hey, if William Wrigley made a fortune of small pieces of gum, why can’t social media brands?
If I had spare time, I’d build an engine that let’s people create MicroMedia content and get it monetized, hmmm contact me and maybe Ill help you.
