The Web Strategy community unites on Facebook, and how to kick start a community
Categories: Community MarketingPosted on July 22nd, 2007(Left: The icon for the Web Strategy Group in Facebook, you must have a Facebook account to access the group)
Just last week I created this Web Strategy Group on Facebook. It’s designed for a more group discussion than this blog. How are blogs and groups different? A blog is me standing on a podium. A group is everyone standing and talking to each other. We probally need more of the latter.
Since the groups formation last week, it’s grown to 468 members and continues to exponentialy grow. There’s a lot of folks out there that run websites, and we can all become better by working together and sharing ideas.
So what are you waiting for? Join the Web Strategy Group in Facebook and start sharing and learning
How did I kick start a community? I created it, invited certain ‘trigger’ folks, and then started to ask questions in the discussion forum. You’ll also notice that I create handsome graphics for the groups. Stay with it, continue to answer questions and be friendly. You’re the host at the party, get it flowing then learn to back off.
Oh, and add me as your friend in Facebook, I’ll add you both. Same with Twitter.
