NBC Hosts Social Media Club, focus on Business Blogging
Categories: Conference, Social MediaPosted on July 12th, 2007I had a wonderful time speaking tonight at NBC 11 in San Jose. I’ll post some photos tomorrow when I’m not tired. Our focus? We talked about business blogging for enterprises, and it was a very lively conversation between the panelists and the audience. I was glad to meet Steve Sloan tonight, who’s known for his new/social media programs at San Jose State. Mike McGrath did a fantastic job moderating the panel, very insightful.
Who was on the panel?
Tony Bove - author, journalist, publisher, blogger, musician, consultant, technophile, Wordpress Guru, blogger Elisa Camahort - Blogher co-founder, author, marketing executive, consultant, vegan, blogger Jeremiah Owyang - PodTech web strategist, innovator, consultant, Ustreamer, blogger Lisa Padilla - BlogTalkRadio VP Marketing, podcaster, technophile, narrowcaster, blogger
I referred to my theory that Corporate Websites are Irrelevant a few times in the panel, be sure to check out the video above. It’s also interesting that we were in a huge video TV company, and I brought in a simple camera and recorded the event using Ustream. Two different styles of video, of different quality, and for different needs.
Update: I’ve finally post many of the pictures of the event on Flickr, please check it out

I appreciated your views about not stopping at the blog, Jeremiah, I think your most valuable contribution to the discussion with this audience. Great audience too, by the way, with good questions. The fact is that we’re going much further than the blog today, opening up all kinds of media participation, for every day consumers, employees, partners and advertisers.

I am really intrigued both by what you had to say and ustream. I think it may be perfect for something we’re planning at SJSU in October.
