Exclusive: “Pythia” Launches. A Social Media Measurement tool
Ian (his blog) the President over at Portent Interactive an interactive marketing company has let me know about a new product they’ve launched. It’s called Pythia and does some measurement in the realm of social media and SEO metrics. The first time you check it out, you submit you URL, if no data is returned then the engine will query it for future use.
Check out Pythia Analytics and tell me what you think
There’s two major areas that they measure:
Search data: Incoming links and pages indexed by Yahoo
Social data: Bloglines and Technorati links (del.icio.us soon)
There’s a premium subscription for about $50 if you think you can get more value out of the tool. Give it a shot and tell me what you think of this service over the next few days. I’ll write a more formal review as I start to see some numbers and trends.
I’m adding Pythia and Portent to this list of companies that measure Social Media. I’ll be having a meeting and demo from TubeMogul tomorrow, as you know, they measure the online video space. Ian’s a good guy, he’s given me some SEO recommendations for this blog, check it out.

Thanks Jeremiah!
One note: We’ve been tracking ‘www.web-strategist.com’ for a while now. Try entering that.
Pythia differentiates between ‘www’ and non-www addresses, because search engines and most blog aggregators do, too…
To see an application of the data Pythia puts out, take a look at Ian’s case study of Veoh.
Thanks Ian,
Brian, you should identify yourself as an employee of Ian’s! thanks.
