Jeremiah Owyang discusses how web tools and social media enable companies to connect with customers

Getting bad press from Bloggers

I don’t know this guy that’s being talked about, but after two posts from personal friends over time, I’m noticing a trend:

Martin McKeay: What sets off your alarms? (Martin is a Network Security Expert, so if he says something, I listen)

Brian Oberkirch: Is Marc Freedman Like Herpes? (Brian’s also a trusted friend, so this really set off my alarms)

ValleyWag calls him out too:

Valleywag: Linkslut lifestyle: the pickup artists of networking

As if this is anything new, link spammers, MLM promo’ers, sploggers, fake friends and NSA types make up the majority of so-called social software. It can work in a limited fashion, but only for a time. And then the drop-off rate is intense, most people quit after they find a few real-life friends or get that job. And people who live their life on their laptops, aren’t people you really want to know anyways.
