Seagate to go Online Data Storage

Categories: Data StoragePosted on December 22nd, 2006

I’m still carefully watching the Online Data Storage market.

This intersects my experience at Hitachi Data Systems and passion for the web.  Seagate announced it’s buying eVault, an online Data Storage company with Backup and Recovery services.  Thus joining the ranks of nearly a hundred other companies with Online Data Storage.

Smart play for Seagate, a Podtech customer which is primarily focused on Hard Drives. Expanding to this new market shows promise.  Although I’ve never met the CEO of Seagate (I probably will soon) I like him already.  Anil Dash reports on why we should like him, he has personality.

Have you read my 40 points on the future of Online Data Storage?
