Silicon Valley Sightings: StormTroopers in SF
(Above: “This Planet is suitable for destruction” Four Stormtroopers take a drink break, and report to into the Grand Admiral on the Deathstar that approaches Earth)
Geek and Tech culture is threaded deeply within the Silicon Valley area. Earlier this year, I walked the bay to breakers party. These local geeks ran across the entire San Francisco city in thier Stormtrooper outfits. I always thought that stormtroopers were clones, I guess this breaks that myth.
Lucas Arts is located in their new homes in the Letterman Digital Arts Center in the Presidio in San Francisco, Niall Kennedy took me on a tour at the Future of Web Apps conference, very cool. This outdated Google maps shows the complex still under construction.
When I worked at Hitachi Data Systems (they sell Data Storage) one of the most amazing customers was Lucas Arts, they created a tremendous amount of rich content.
Update: Members of the 501st Stormtrooper division march the Rose Bowl parade this 2006.
