		<description>You probably remember that I was never reachable by IM.  It&#039;s just too intrusive and I&#039;m easily distracted.

I&#039;m in VA so I am hundreds of miles away from all my collegues, but I keep in touch by answering my emails every hour.  The closest I come to IM is having Skype open and allowing the occassional IM to come through.  I got nothing done when I used to have IM open, but much more now.</description>

		<description>That&#039;s all well and good for someone who&#039;s just jumped into a new start-up environment and doesn&#039;t want to be distracted by their friends all day.  But, it&#039;s not recommended for people who are isolated from their co-workers 1500 miles away.  For people like that (not naming any names), IM is an invaluable and almost necessary form of communication.</description>
