Wikipedia revolts and declares War on Bloggers. The problem with Wikis is those dang Humans

Categories: Social MediaPosted on December 5th, 2006

Wikipedia vs Bloggers
Wikipedia, known for it’s growing collection of community knowledge and facts has declared war on bloggers. Some bloggers are creating their own Wikpedia pages to self promote themselves as something they’re not. Bloggers need to realize that there are hardly any barriers to entry to blogging, so you/we are not special. Wikipedia user TimeCop leads the charge. Oh man, this is going to be one funny geek fight.

The problem with Wikis is those humans
I’m hesitant about publicly open wikis, as one jerko always ruins the party. This is the case with the Scoble Show Wiki which was setup just a few day ago. It’s an open model and anyone can edit it. Yesterday someone vandalized it, deleted all the content, Chris and I reverted back. Today, someone super clever changed Photowalking to Photostalking and added pictures of Amway…. sigh. We had to lock down the Data Storage Industry wiki as it was constantly bombarded with vandels. Those dang humans.
