Missing Person: James Kim and Family

Categories: RuminationsPosted on December 1st, 2006

I’m doing my part to help get the word out for missing tech community member James Kim, (CNET’s senior editor of digital audio) his wife and two daughters.  They were expected to arrive back to SF from their trip from Seattle.  Gosh I really hope they didn’t drive offroad by accident or worse. More news from SFGoV (you can contact them if you’ve any news), Engadget community is concerned, Check out James Cnet Profile Page

High hopes for James Kim and family.

  1. Some very good news: His wife and two children were found alive. No word on their health other than that they are alive.

James, was last seen by his family 2 days ago, when he left for help.

Being a member of a Search and Rescue team I am absolutely amazed that they were found alive. It has been very cold (snowing), they had been missing for 7 days, and the youngest was 7 months old! With their situation the extreme elements, and lack of water and food, it must have been a struggle.

Usually, after 2-3 days the search and rescue turns into a search for bodies. I had figured they went off the road, and down a cliff…

I am glad they found James wife and children and I do hope they find James alive (I remember him from the techtv days).

  2. I heard that too.

Wow James is in a risky position…wishing him the best.
