Jeremiah Owyang discusses how web tools and social media enable companies to connect with customers

Salim Demos Confabb (Resources for conference organizers and attendees) from Winer’s Orange Couch

Salim Ismail has a launched the Confabb site using a video interview from Podtech. See the confabb site yourself.

“it’s a new Web 2.0 site that is tracking more than 16,000 real-world conferences like CES, Demo and Pop!Tech. See Salim Ismail, CEO, demo the top features of the new site.”

This seems a bit different than Upcoming or zvents, but I’m sure they will launch similar features in the future. I do love the rating systems so you can rate speakers, conferences, schwag, networking, venue and content. Check out Salim’s blog here, former management team of pubsub, where I’m hoping he’ll announce when the site launches.

Perhaps the most notable feature is the ‘top speakers’ rating systems which will create a hierarchy of speakers across the industry. This will really help to determine who the most admired and valued speakers are. Wow, this is the Technorati top 100 of speakers!

I enjoy watching video demos of products, it really saves me the trouble of having to register, login, and playing with the dang things. If you’re new to my blog, my relation to podtech here.
