Social Media Press Release
Brian Solis, shared with me this news as Futureworks and other groups are getting together to define a practical process in sharing with the world using social media. You can learn more about the Social Media Press Release from the FutureWorks site.
While I see the value in such forms and processes, I really need to learn more, the word of mouth network is already so fast with blogs and other tools that by having a formalized process may undermine the efficiency of which the natural method works.
Before I make a judgment, I’m going to learn more, and get drinks and dinner with Brian upon my return.

Hey Jeremiah, this is also all part of the experiments we’re running to share with the rest of the PR and marketing industry as part of the Social Media Club and our efforts to propose a standard for Social Media Releases.
Chris Heuer and I, along with everyone on the Social Media Release Working Group, are learning everyday. We have to answer not only how, but why.
Chris recently presented the format for the SMR at the recent Society for New Communications Research event in Boston, and also ran a powerpful post entitled, “The Impact of Social Media and How it Changes Everything.”
Looking forward to catching up when you return.
Thanks Brian, I look forward to learning more from you when I get back.
[…] This is not a new stance of mine, just a few weeks ago, I even said I didn’t understand the social media press release either. […]
