It should be a 'camp' of sometime...

Oh I know!

Let's call it BAND CAMP!

heh, honestly, we should just call it a few friends hanging out and have it be a 'social dj' where anyone can add music to the music.

Bottom up DJing

Yeah, a music + wine 'event' would be great. Maybe we can invite a few friends over with everyone bringing a favorite CD (or a CD with some of their favorite songs) and a bottle of wine. Then we just kick back and enjoy the goodness all around.

Hey Jeremiah, I think you are on to something here!

Kristie

WOW, we have a lot in common when it comes to music tastes. I propose a music party over wine sometime!

Kelly does have a great voice, but it's very poppish. I have most of the MP3s or CDs of the Chill/lounge artists you mentioned. I enjoy when they 'mash' with jazz. Such as the verve record mixup.

I can't wait to talk to you about this more later.

For chill music, I love: Cowboy Junkies, Jem, Cesaria Evora, Johnny Lang, Coldplay, Collective Soul, Dido, Poe, Morcheeba, Zero7, and Seal. I am also getting into 'new' artist Lily Allen. And if you can find the Ultra Chilled collection - those are great compilations. Especially Ultra Chilled II. One of my favortie CDs of all time.

When I travel, I also make sure I have songs from the following artists in my iPod: Dave Matthews, She Wants Revenge, Foo Fighters, Gipsy Kings, Shakira, Muse, Audioslave, Live, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alejandra Guzman, Incubus, and Matchbox Twenty.

If you want specific favorited songs/CDs - let me know - but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the above artists. Well, I guess you can't go wrong as long as you like the same type music I do. :)

And ok...I'll say it...Kelly Clarkson isn't bad either.

Have a great trip Jeremiah!

[...] Taking a cue from my buddy Jeremiah, who used his blog to get recommendations both for his camera and for relevant podcasts for his upcoming trip. I thought it’d be a good idea for me to try out something similar, since I’m in the middle of purchasing a digital camera. Before I continue, let me take this opportunity to wish Jeremiah the very best on his “Return to Roots” trip to China. I wish both Jeremiah and Shirley a pleasant trip! Bon Voyage!
Business Week has some interesting podcasts. although i browse through their site once in a while to see what they have up there (the site needs some navigation help in my opinion) i subscribe to Innovation of the Week ,and CEO Guide to Technology (see the one on Social Media) ...but my favorite is
Business Week's Cover Story podcast which is an inside view by the author(s) along with the Managing Editor of the that weeks cover story.

The Cullinane & Green Report podcast (some good in-depth interviews that you would probably be interested in) and Phil McKinney's Killer Innovations have also been on the heavy rotation for a while on my Podcast, along with some Sales related podcasts like the SalesRoundUp (Sales’s Training podcasts as expected are really taking off- at Factiva-our VP of Sales has an internal monthly one)

Music? For some reason i feel like we might not be on the same boat on this one...but anything Bob Dylan (including his XM show), Dave Alvin (multiple albums but West of the West is the latest) , T-Bone Burnett's new album, Gillian Welch, Jayhawks, Willie Deville, Lucinda Williams, and i can go on and on and on....

Enjoy!

(Question- how come you do not have a preview feature on your comments? It would be helpful so we could check our links etc. Let's hope the links above work!)
