Online Backup and the Future of Online Storage
Michael reports that Carbonite looks like it’s doing hidden replication for a mere 5 dollars a month. More discussions from Techmeme.
A few days ago I published my thoughts on the Future of Online Storage - 40 Points to think about.
Carbonite, Mozy, Microsoft, and the other 100 online data storage companies all fall into my predictions, but please pay close attention to point #24.
Update: Kent has left some thoughts, see my points #35

We need Mac versions!!
we use www.onlinebackupvault.com for our macs. their buisness client backs up our mac machines seamlessly.. i am very happy with their tech support which i think is actually more important than their product!! when i am down i down want to have to wait for third wo country to fix me up!
I think most providers are heading the mac direction. The reason many cant support mas currently is that Ahsay dont currently support mac. When they do just about everyone will. We at www.backupanytime.com support windows, mac and linux. We have been offering support for all three since 2004 so our offerings are of the more refined variety. Dont be the first with anyones new offering or you will be part of a bug test vanguard.
