my rank is a big fat 5- but that is not why i am interested in tools like this.
I recently tried to build my own little app using bloggit (from dapper)that i could run from my desk top and always check tecnorati rank. plug the URL and the graph is displayed. it is a good way to quickly get some sort of ‘authority’ or at least a good understanding of the eyeballs on the blogs i read or on those interesting posts i find randomly – not only for commenting on my own blog or sending to collegues but for sharing with clients. I am probably more adapt to send a post to a customer on a topic of interest to them from a blogger that is being linked to by other bloggers i read and consider ok in my book. In the media metrics world PR groups spend time looking at authors, what they write about and how often they are distributed- tools like this help us little folks understand the audience especially as we use trackbacks etc.
