Jeremiah Owyang discusses how web tools and social media enable companies to connect with customers

Just Downloaded Google Talk

I just downloaded Google Talk, and will be experimenting with, and will write my findings here on this post. The product team has announced the new version. I like how different product teams have blogs at Google –makes for a real human like experience.

I was forced to redownload Google Talk, as I had a hard drive reformat.

  • Download went well
  • Initial observations, not sure what features are so mind blowing amazing?
  • File transfer and voice messages are added, isn’t this standard with many IM clients already?

Tim’s take: no frills on the interface =)

Yes, the interface is my major attraction to this client.

It also runs on open source jabber platform making application integration a cinch.

All around it’s the best client out there and all I will use.

Though some will bristle at the privacy implications, I like that it automatically stores chat conversations in Gmail, as there’s often info in chats that I want to access later.
