Vets, do you have photos or videos of Vietnam or Korea?

Yahoo’s War Blogger wants your Vietnam and Korea story.

Yahoo’s Kevin sites wants photos and videos of your war tour in Vietnam. Kevin Sites is an ‘in the trenches’ blogger from Yahoo –he’s currently blogging about the experiences in the middle east. (view his rugged soap opera looking profile and his Flickr Pics)

For us bloggers, he’s one of the few that are reporting about the war, without being actual military –we’re all aware of the many military blogs that are being written.

Here’s what this Yahoo request is saying in this post they’ve had up just over a week: Vietnam and Korea: Send Your Pictures and Video

“Were you or someone you know involved in the Vietnam War or the Korean War?

Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone wants to feature reader pictures and video from these wars as part of our coverage of Vietnam and Korea.”

To me this is interesting as Yahoo is calling out to the people for the stories, the real ‘citizen journalists’ who lived the wars –capture these stories now and get them on the web.

I wonder what Yahoo’s Tony Tam has to say about this –as a friend of mine, and one of the chief Yahoo News engineers, perhaps he can share some insight.
