Jeremiah Owyang discusses how web tools and social media enable companies to connect with customers

Web Strategy: Factiva’s Daniella Demonstrates Product Demo Via YouTube Video

Web Strategy: Harnessing Low Cost Social Media Video for Viral Marketing, and Personalized Product Demos.

Daniella (who has a background in Information Architecture) has responded to my comment suggesting that RSS be the data protocol for internal applications. I know where Sharepoint is going, and most browsers so RSS is required for many web applications that want to empower users to take control of data.

Daniella has used a YouTube video to convey her product demo –she’s even personalized it for my specific needs, and my day job needs –highly targeted and very cheap (free). She’s a blogger, vlogger, and is leading her company in the avenues of Social media –I can relate.

She’s using Sharepoint as the data platform which will help to pull in data, one from my CTO, Hu Yoshida, as well as my own personal blog. This is a tool that account teams can use to understand, monitor, and be informed about clients or prospects –information is key.

She’s demonstrated her expertise with the product on this online video demo, using YouTube, Social Media–I think she should head/be promoted into Product Management or Product Marketing. Daniella, you may want to try to attend Webvisions in Portland later this month –I’ll be on a panel discussing social media.

Bravo to you Daniella –I’m going to show this to a few of my own product teams.

thanks Jeremiah! A lot of my inspiration comes from you and other bloggers that i normally ingest.

before someone posts or asks about YouTube’s commercial policy remember these are videos of a simple Solutions Architect, using various products available to her to show one of her blogspheres colleagues how she uses these in her day to day workflow-

    enjoy the 4th!

  3. […] What a business model, build a platform and let the world do the work. Smart move for the 30 employees in San Mateo. My YouTube Video Library is growing I’ve started to upload videos from interesting places, And Daniella responded to my video. Check out all my videos, or my homepage where you can subscribe to my video feed. Some of my videos I don’t publish to the world, I’ve created some personal messages to my cousin who moved to Japan for his bday. (see not all vids need to be public). I received my first comment on this video I uploaded of some street entertainers in Boston. […]

  4. […] Factiva listens Daniela Barbosa, a Factiva employee has really been reaching out to this new medium at a pretty traditional company. She really deserves the praise of her colleagues, the social media community and most importantly, customers. As a former customer of Factiva, Daniela would read my blog daily, and responded in comments, her blog and even using YouTube. Additional Kudos should be delivered to the product team, Glenn, Saurabh for reaching back, listening and trying to understand this new market to build a better product. For those within Factiva and Dow Jones, please learn from what this team has done. Factiva, is a company that listens to the market and to it’s customers. […]
